31st December 2008:
Ajanta caves witness increasing inflow of tourists:

World heritage Ajanta caves are now having higher inflow of Indian and foreign tourists. Aurangabad district Police has beefed security in caves region and set up wireless unit for instant communication at Ajanta and Fardapur along with metal detectors. Caves remain open throughout week with Monday as its weekly holiday while Ellora caves remain closed only on Tuesday irrespective of holidays.

18th November 2008:
Various activities on eve of Ajanta - Ellora festival:

Ellora - Ajanta festival committee in association with Shlok are jointly conducting various pre-festival activities to cheer up upcoming Ajanta - Ellora festival. This includes Rangoli competition on 22nd November, Half Marathon named "Run Aurangabad", Mehandi, Hair style and food preparation on 23rd November along with cultural function 'Maharashtra Mahanayika' on same day.

21st April 2008:
Ajanta, Ellora and other ancient archives get weather stations:
Archeological survey of India in association with ISRO has setup automated weather stations at Ajanta and Ellora caves under World heritage conservation week. This would avail hourly update on all heritages throughout country at a glance and would take readings as well.
Center has been setup at small lake on Waghur River in Ajanta and is near cave# 29 in Ellora. This center takes data of 50kms periphery and would avail temperature, humidity, impact of sunrays, weather understanding and air pressure reading. It would enable authorities to plan for disaster management well in time and are being introduced based on UNESCO demand to setup.

Let's rejoice: Budget 2008 proposes 5-years Tax holidays for setting up hotels in Jalgaon:

Central Government Budget 2008 has come up as a bundle of joy for Jalgaon region. Budget has special package offering 5-years tax holidays for setting up 2/3/4 start hotel in UNESCO notified world heritage sites districts. Jalgaon for first time has turned lucky to be included in this list with special mention in Finance Bill 2008.
This would attract and set landmark path for arrival of mega hotel(s) chains being setup in Jalgaon to facilitate foreign and Indian Tourists inflow for Ajanta and other tourist places in Jalgaon district.

10th January 2008:
Ajanta route to have new pollution free buses:
State road transport Corporation has announced buying of 10 new pollution free buses on Ajanta route in March 2008. It has been operating pollution free buses in association with Maharashtra Tourism development Corporation since 01st January 2001 and the existing contract ends in March-2008. All buses from T-point to Ajanta caves meet Euro-2 standards and include 5 luxurious and 5 semis.
