MTDC proposes Rs. 360 Crores development plan for Ajanta -Ellora caves:
The World renowned Ajanta and Ellora Caves will soon have special focus
with MTDC Planning for a special Development and conservation plan of
Rs. 360 Crores. The Phase two of plan being implemented with financial
aid from Japan has special plans for preserving Ajanta drawings, tourism
development, roads and water facilities to reach the point by the year
2008-09.
The Plan also includes developing Aurangabad Airport with International
Facilities, boosting wildlife preservation to attract tourism, developing
Lonar, Gautala forestry, Patnadevi and setting good road connectivity
between Jalgaon and Aurangabad. The Authorities are using Ethyl Silicate
chemical mixture to preserve drawings added with glass security to protect
drawings from visitors.

Bhusaval to Ajanta Caves Road Repairs begins soon:
The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation in financial aid worth
Rs. 15 Crores from Japan Government has begun its process for building
up brand new road from Bhusaval - Jamner - Pahur - Ajanta Caves. The
29kms long road is one of shortest method of reaching Bhusaval, Railway's
junction point for ease of travelling. It saves around 10kms of travelling
Ajanta - Jalgaon and then Jalgaon to Bhusaval.
The Authorities expects completion of this 12 meters wide road by December
2006

Proposal of 30+ Security Police for Ajanta Caves:
Considering increasing traffic of foreign and national Tourists
towards Ajanta Caves, the Police Authorities are in process to have
around 30+ more Police staff with one PSI in-charge. The Caves witnesses
booming tourist traffic needs urgent security attention for foreigners
and Indian nationals to secure their luggage, personal security, and
saving caves valuables.

The Ajanta Ellora Friends Association is hosting its annual Ajanta Caves
Festivity 2005 on 15th January 2005. The Festivity comprises of Ajanta
caves excursion arrangements for tourist from Jalgaon, Caves related
books and Drawings exhibition at T Point and then lectures in evening
