Yes the route planned is good approach and can have option of moving to Ellora on travel back from Shirdi to Aurangabad (no need to spare a separate day for Ellora unless you have plan of Aurangabad city sight seeing). You may look to opt Aurangabad - Nashik - Mumbai route.
