1) Reaching by train:
Jalgaon is nearest station by train for Ajanta/ Ellora. All Central/ western railways trains towards Mumbai/ Howrah have halts here. Alternatively you could look for Bhusawal as alternate destination for Ajanta/ Ellora. All superfast trains have halt here. Refer Railways website for details.
2) You can base Aurangabad for arrival from Pune and then hire car for Ajanta/ Ellora tour.
3) August can be a good option to visit amidst good rained climate and greenary around.
